Pacific Skies

EDM Tomorrow team members at Pacific Skies: Joshua & Julian

The EDM Tomorrow team had an unreal experience covering Pacific Skies. The festival was held at Wet N Wild works on Oahu, Hawaii.

As one can imagine, by looking at the name, the scene for Pacific Skies was a waterpark. This, in tandem with being on the island, set our expectations high. Hawaii did not disappoint. A lot of the attendees grew up going to the waterpark - many said they haven’t been back since they were younger. Seeing that Illenium and William Black were going to be at Wet’N’Wild, made them want to relive some nostalgia.

All 3 days were eventful - the combination of Illenium with William Black and the local artists did well. All genres of EDM were played by the festival performers, but Melodic was definitely the top choice at Pacific Skies. William Black does as William Black does, and put on 3 nights of Melodic EDM. Illenium did the same. The first night he had performed what seemed like a majority throwback set. The two nights that followed was combination of the first and tracks from his most recent albums - Fallen Embers and Illenium. He also played an unreleased track with Rezz, which got the audience in their feels.

We also attended the Ghastly afterparty. It was a jam packed venue, where he played his own music and the likes of: Sullivan King, Excision and more.

Any Illenium fan would not have been disappointed with Pacific Skies.

How it went

Austin Ferreira, a local of the island had this to say about Pacific Skies:

“He (Illenium) performed here in 2019 and hasn’t been back. It’s so crazy to see how much he’s grown since. I’m in awe right now.”

Kyle Brown, from California and flew in for all 3 days of the festival had this to say:

“I saw that Illenium and William Black were going to be out in Hawaii and I bought the tickets within the next hour. Can’t believe I’m here right now. This festival is sick!”

Again, the EDM Tomorrow team really enjoyed covering Pacific Skies. We highly recommend our audience to consider all other Relentless Beats and We Are Metta events. All Links can be found below.

Shooter’s notes

 Josh

To go to Hawaii and shoot my favorite artist at Pacific Skies was honestly a dream come true. Made a ton of friends and truly had a blast this festival. Made memories that will last a lifetime. It was one of those festivals that made you remember why you started in the first place.
