Last week, Decadence Arizona returned to Phoenix Raceway to celebrate the end of 2024 and a decade of Decadence, one of the nation's largest NYE celebrations. This year's theme: "Age of Indulgence," featured a lineup with some of the hottest names in dance/electronic music, including Deadmau5, Dom Dolla, Mau P, and John Summit. Its top-tier production, performers, and acts made for an unforgettable NYE experience.

The first day of Decadence took place on Monday, December 30th. Upon arriving at the festival, I immediately noticed the crowd – a vibrant explosion of fashion and individuality – quickly filling the festival grounds and stages. Decadence hosted two main stages: Grand Palace and Royal Ballroom, in massive, tent-like structures, and a few smaller stages, including the Quiet Quarters Silent Disco presented by Trulieve, and The Playhouse, hosting local talent presented by Beatbox. The festival grounds themselves were adorned with gold and were the perfect size, allowing for all stages and vendors to be a short walk away from one another.

After exploring the festival a bit more, I made my way over to Grand Palace to check out my first set of the night: JSTJR b2b Nostalgix. The pair delivered a high-energy set that prepared the perfect atmosphere for the night to come. I then made my way to The Royal Ballroom to check out LE Youth. His unique sounds and the overall ambiance were ones that many seemed to enjoy.

As the night progressed, I found myself back at Grand Palace for some exciting sets. First, French duo No Redemption (consisting of Tchami and Malaa) followed by legendary DJ/producer Deadmau5, who delivered a set complete with hypnotizing visuals and, of course, his iconic mouse head. As midnight approached, tech house DJ/producer Dom Dolla took the stage, drawing a massive crowd as he began his set with the unreleased track "Sunny Days," followed by older releases, including "Rhyme Dust," "San Frandisco," and "Miracle Maker." Finally, I ended my first day by catching Excision's set. Famous for his loud bass, heavy drops, and jaw-dropping visuals, his set is one I won't be forgetting soon.

Thousands of excited fans flooded the festival grounds for the second day of Decadence, as the anticipation began to build for the special New Year's Eve countdown. I kicked off the second day by visiting some of the vendors present throughout the festival and even grabbing some merch.

As the night progressed, I made my way to the Grand Palace, which was hosting many notable acts. First, Canadian duo Zeds Dead delivered a stunning set that captivated the crowd as they moved effortlessly between tracks, encapsulating different genres and vibes. Most notably, the duo played "Ecstasy Of Soul," which sent the crowd into a total frenzy. House DJ/Producer Mau P then took the stage for a fun set full of dance hits such as "Gimme That Bounce" and "Drugs From Amsterdam." His vibrant set kept the crowd on their feet until the very end as he closed his set with a hard-hitting dubstep remix of "Cinema" that shocked the crowd.

As midnight approached, both main stages filled with massive crowds, with Crankdat and Riot Ten hosting the B2B of Dog Eat Dog at Royal Ballroom and tech house DJ/Producer John Summit at Grand Palace. John Summit's infectious stage presence paired with his hit tracks left me in awe. 15 minutes into his set, as the house to drum and bass track "Go Back" neared its drop, the countdown to the new year appeared on screen. As the festival-goers welcomed the new year, confetti showered the crowd, followed by an extravagant balloon drop.

After the crowd officially welcomed in 2025, ISOxo took the stage for a jaw-dropping set full of heavy drops and thrilling energy, while encouraging the crowd to mosh and jump. Alas, the night came to a close during the early hours of January first as Mexican-American DJ Deorro closed out Decadence AZ.

Having attended Decadence last year, I was extremely eager and excited to experience the festival again. Getting to see so many people come together and celebrate the new year will always be magical. The festival's top-tier production paired with its diverse lineup makes it a festival that any electronic/dance music lover won't want to miss. Celebrating not only the new year but also 10 years of Decadence Arizona was truly special
